The honest answers
Is TunedWaves free?
Yes — the app is free, no card ever. Full tracks play through your own Apple Music subscription; without one, every song plays as a 30-second preview.
Do I need Apple Music?
For full tracks, yes — TunedWaves plays music through your own Apple Music account, so artists get played, not scraped. Without it you still get the whole app with 30-second previews.
What’s a daily?
A short playlist you post — five-ish songs, one mood — that disappears after 24 hours. What you hear is what today sounds like, not an archive.
What does “tune in” mean?
When someone goes live, you can listen along in sync — you hear the same song at the same moment they do. That’s a wave. You can broadcast your own from anything you’re playing.
Can people see exactly where I am?
No. TunedWaves only ever uses a coarse area — enough to know a wave is “nearby”, never your precise location, and never shown as a point on a map.
What’s ghost mode?
Broadcasting without your name on it. The room hears your music; nobody sees who’s playing it. You can make it your default.
What’s the galaxy?
Your listening, drawn as a sky: waves you catch become stars, friends you bring in become moons, countries you visit become planets you can revisit.
Does it work in the car?
Yes — CarPlay and Android Auto, with your saved mixes as one-tap stations and friends’ live waves as rows you can join.
How do I report something?
Every wave, daily and profile has a report action. Reports go to a human-reviewed queue; blocked people can’t see or reach you.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Settings → Delete account — it removes your profile, dailies and listening history. No app? See the delete-account page linked in the footer.
